Janet "Jan" Lorraine Gaddis

IN MEMORY OF: Janet “Jan” Lorraine Gaddis Serving Location: CRAIN FUNERAL HOME – ANNA 135 West Vienna Street, Anna, Illinois Mrs. Janet “Jan” Lorraine Gaddis, age 78 of Dongola, died at 12:05 AM Monday, March 13, 2023 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. She was born August 20, 1944 in Anaconda, Montana, the daughter of Leonard William Bowen and Virginia Rose Brooks Bowen of Philipsburg, MT. She married Charles E Gaddis on June 27, 1964 in Reno, Nevada and together they spent 50 wonderful years together. She worked alongside her husband in the automotive service industry as a bookkeeper/secretary for many years. She loved her family, especially her grandkids, and enjoyed teaching them to cook, watching ballgames with them, scratching backs, writing letters, and playing games with them. One of her favorite hobbies was genealogy and loved adding more details to her family history. She welcomed others into her home, enjoyed sharing meals together and loving on people. Jan was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dongola. Jan was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother and friend and will be dearly missed. Jan is survived by two daughters, Tammy (Paul) Goodman of Hopkinsville, KY, Teresa (Kevin) Ralls of Anna, IL, one son, David (Erin) Gaddis of Dongola, IL, seven grandchildren, Nathan (Tia) Ralls of Marion, Rachel Goodman of Hopkinsville, Daniel Ralls of Marion, Sarah Ralls of Marion, Emily (Holt) Linde of Birmingham, AL, Caleb Gaddis and Brooklyn Gaddis of Dongola, six great grandchildren, one sister, Barbara (Jack) Silvey of Philipsburg, MT, two brothers, Don Bowen of Philipsburg, MT, and Larry (Kathe) Bowen of Port Washington, WI, two sisters-in-law, Lois Ann Treece of Dupo, IL and Cheryl Gaddis of Dongola, and other nieces and nephews, relatives, and friends. Along with her parents and husband, Jan was preceded in death by one brother, Dave Bowen of Philipsburg, two brothers-in-laws, Don Gaddis and Gary Treece, and one sister-in-law, Janice Bowen. Visitation will be held Friday, March 17, 2023 from 11:00AM until 1:00 PM at Crain Funeral Home in Anna. Funeral Services for Janet Gaddis will be held Friday, March 17, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Crain Funeral Home in Anna with Kevin Ralls officiating. Interment will follow at Big Creek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be made to the Dongola First Baptist Church-Food Pantry.
