IN MEMORY OF: Eddie Dean “Money” Green Serving Location: CRAIN FUNERAL HOME – CAPE GIRARDEAU 829 North West End Boulevard, Cape Girardeau, Missouri Eddie Dean “Money” Green departed this life on Sunday, February 8, 2026 at Mercy Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo. Eddie, affectionately known as “Money”, was born on January 5, 1955 to the union of Fannie (Hite) and Columbus Green in Mayersville, MS. He was the 10th of 11 children. The family moved to Otto Township then later to Kankakee, IL. Eddie attended Westview High School. Eddie accepted Christ into his life at an early age while attending New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, Otto, IL. Eddie continued his spiritual journey at New Horizon M.B. Church in Cape Girardeau, MO and later at Love, Faith, and Deliverance Church in Bradley, IL. Eddie was married two times and cherished his family deeply. He is survived by his children: Edward “Eddie” Jacob and Talaine Jacob of Kankakee, IL (from his marriage to Sandra Jacob Green), Kenyatta “Denise” Orr (Kenneth Orr) of Kankakee, IL (from his relationship with Pearl Howard-Caston.) Eddie met and married his current wife Jonnie (Bridges) in which he adopted 3 daughters Lakeisha Lee (Davis) Terrisha Lee (Terrell Clemons) and Jonnisha Bridges-Fulton. Throughout his relationships, he gained 3 bonus daughters Lisa Leggett, Candace and Jessica Watson, bonus son Jason Jacob and a daughter-in-law Suzette Jacob, all of Kankakee, IL. He also has 22 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and a large extended family. Eddie worked a multitude of jobs over his life span. He began working at Roadway Express Trucking Company in 1987 in which he worked until he retired. Eddie loved sports, especially baseball. He played for the Kankakee Northside Superstars. His hobbies included cooking, spending time with family and grilling. Eddie was preceded in death by his parents Columbus and Fannie Green, his daughter Latanya Green, bonus son Jason Jacob, four brothers Robert “Bud”, Johnny, Melvin and Anderson Green and three sisters, Pearlie Hill, Annie Baptist and Precilla Terrell. Eddie leaves to cherish his memories his wife and best friend Jonnie (Bridges) Green; one son; two daughters; 3 adopted daughters; 3 bonus daughters; two sons in-laws; one daughter in-law; two brothers Roosevett (Helen) Green, and Willie (Renee) Green all of Kankakee, IL.; one sister, Cecilia Green-Magee of Mandevelle, LA.; two Sister-in-Laws Pauline Green and Juanita Green both of Kankakee,IL; 22 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends including special friends Clint and Joe Hester and Obie Kennedy, Jr. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Harold McGee officiating at Crain Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson, Missouri. Crain Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Cape Girardeau is in charge of arrangements.
