Ernestine Brown

Ernestine "Tina" Brown, age 82, formerly of Murphysboro, passed away Sunday morning, March 2, in Pennsylvania, after a long battle with Alzheimer's. She was the last born, Feb 24, 1926, to Thomas House and Sarah Dixon. Her parents, brother, Fred House, and sisters Eva Smith, Viola Dillinger, Edna Spear, Jennie Born, Lena Seagraves, Wanda Brothers, and Norma Rains, all preceded her in death. Sole surviving sister is Evelyn Fielding of Murphysboro. Maxine Crowell of Herrin, niece who grew up as a sister, also survives. Tina was married at the young age of 15 to Everett Brown., who died in 2005. Together they shared over 60 years of marriage, and 8 children. In the late 60's, the Browns purchased Stecher Lake in Murphysboro and renamed it Brown's Lake, where they built a home on the newly developed Tina Drive. One grandson, Michael Brown, of Ohio, preceded her in death. All children survive, and along with their spouses and children are: Son and wife Gary and Harriett Brown of Orlando, Florida, whose children are Jeff Brown of Ohio, Michelle and Brian Chekowski, of Orlando, Florida and Melanie and Jason Ahmanson of Washington; Son and wife Donald and Lydia Brown of DeBary, Florida, whose children are Christina and Scott Lifendahl of DeBary, and Donny and Aimee Brown of Chicago; Daughter and husband, Judy and David Hoffman of Port Jervis, New York, whose children are Tim Hoffman of Arizona, Terry Hoffman of New York, Darren and Betty Jo Hoffman of New York, and Jason Hoffman of New York; Son and wife Rick and Sandy Brown, of Cincinnati, Ohio, whose children are Sarah and Frank Swartzell , Ben and Staci Brown, and Nicholas and Carrie Brown, all of Ohio. Daughter and husband Debby Vinyard Connett and Hugh Connett of Malvern, PA; Son and wife Tim and Mary Brown whose children are Brandon and Staci Brown, Brian Brown, Brett Brown, and Brock Brown, all of Cathedral City, CA.; Daughter and husband Cathy and Fred Schnautz of Murphysboro, whose children are Autumn Moniger of Gorham, and Justin Moniger of Murphysboro; Son and wife Randy and. Tiffany Brown whose children are Jennifer Brown, Jordan Brown, Taylor Brown, and Alexis Brown, all of Oklahoma City, OK. She leaves behind 19 great grandchildren. Tina professed that she gave her heart to Jesus at age 12, and by faith, now lives forever in blessedness.
