Jennifer Kerley

Jennifer "Jenny" Kathleen Kerley, age 31, of Makanda, passed away at 7:12 p.m. Saturday, October 7, 2006, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale. Her body has been cremated and a memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, October 13, 2006, at the United Methodist Church with Rev. Richard Lewis officiating. Pettett Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Jackson County Humane Society, 95 Humane Road, Carbondale, IL 62901, Lance Armstrong Foundation, P.O. Box 161150, Austin, TX, 78716-1150, or the United Methodist Church, 1500 Pine Street, Murphysboro, IL 62966. Jenny was born on September 17, 1975, at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, to Gerald Ripley and Kathleen (Brunkhorst) Ripley. She was a graduate of the Murphysboro High School Class of 1994. Jenny enjoyed baking, loved to go shopping, and she especially loved animals including her favorite German shepherd Jeager. She was known for sense of adventure and zest for life, which showed to her family and friends her courage and strength. Mrs. Ripley was an optical claims reader clerk for the Wisconsin Physician?s Services. Jenny married Brian Kerley on April 5, 2003, in Murphysboro and he survives. Other survivors include her parents of Murphysboro, her mother and father in law Colleen and Fred Kerley of Makanda; one brother John Ripley of Murphysboro, one sister Christina (Ripley) Yankey of Murphysboro, and two nieces Madison and Makayla Ripley of DeSoto; her paternal grandmother Ruth Ripley of Murphysboro; her grandparents in law Nancy and Charles Johnson of E. Peoria; her aunts, uncles, and cousins, Linda and John Gottlieb of Ellisville, MO, and their daughter Kimberly Gottlieb of Springfield, MO; Barb and Bob Onken and their children Shea Onken and Matt Onken of Eureka, MO; Lawrence and Rita Ripley of Murphysboro and their daughter Cindy Meyer of Millstadt; Myrna Ripley of Murphysboro and Bruce Ritter of Johnston City and their children Jama Hoppenstadt of Murphysboro and Jeff Burke of Herrin; and Mike Ripley of Murphysboro. her husband?s aunts and uncles Joe and Patti Cox and John and Sherry Cox, all of Morton, IL, Janet and Ronnie Stevens and Bill and Sarah Smith, all of Carterville, and Bob and Janice Kerley of Pawnee; and many cousins; her many co workers and friends, including her special friends Angie Rowald, Jeanne Schemonia, and Jennifer Johnson. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents John and Kathleen Brunkhorst, her paternal grandfather Claude Ripley and her aunt Melissa Brunkhorst.
