Peggy Gualdoni

Peggy (Williams) Drew Gualdoni, age 89, passed away, Wednesday, June 5, 2019 in Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. Peggy was born on May 11, 1930 to Floyd ‘Dago’ and Allene (Mann) Williams in Carbondale. She married Ray Drew on April 8, 1950 they shared 34 years of marriage, prior to Ray’s death January 14, 1985. Peggy and Ray had two children, Mike Drew and wife Pam of Carbondale who survive and Carol Denice Drew Elliott (deceased December 17, 1995). She is also survived by two grandsons and two great granddaughters, Nathan Drew and wife, Sara and their daughter, Harper of Arnold, MO; Joshua Elliott and wife, Kara and their daughter, Adaline of Herrin. Peggy married Emil Gualdoni on November 13, 1991.They shared 20 years of marriage prior to his death on March 9, 2011. Peggy loved and welcomed Emil's two daughters and one son and their families, all of which survive, Mary (Dennis) Sloan, Gayla (Wayne) Hosmon, Emil A. Gualdoni; seven-step grandchildren, Beth (Kenny) Ogden, Britta Meyer, Desiree Hart, James Moore, Jessica (Nick) Powless, Emil Anthony Gualdoni, Jr. and Kenny Gualdoni; six step-great grandchildren, Kyler Ogden, Bailey Chamness, Luke Meyer, Taleeyah Hart, Avery Speraneo and Jayden Speraneo. She graduated from Carbondale Community High School in 1949. She was an active member of the reunion planning committee. Peggy has always worked in the medical field. She worked for Clifford Neill, DDS for four years in Carbondale. Ellis Crandall, MD for ten years in Carbondale until his retirement. She then worked with Carbondale Family Medicine Group which included Brian McElheny, MD; Paul A Bennett, MD and Roger Jones, MD. She was office manager and wore many hats until her retirement with Dr. McElheny in 1992. Peggy is survived by one son, Mike (Pam) Drew; two grandsons, Nathan (Sara) Drew; Joshua (Kara) Elliott; two great granddaughters, Adaline Elliott and Harper Drew; two step-daughters, Mary (Dennis) Sloan, Gayla (Wayne) Hosmon, Emil A. Gualdoni; seven step- grandchildren, Beth (Kenny) Ogden, Britta Meyer, Desiree Hart, James Moore, Jessica (Nick) Powless, Emil Anthony Gualdoni, Jr. and Kenny Gualdoni; six step-great grandchildren, Kyler Ogden, Bailey Chamness, Luke Meyer, Taleeyah Hart, Avery Speraneo and Jayden Speraneo. She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Carol Denice Drew Elliott, two husbands, and a brother, John "Little Dago" Williams. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Graveside services will be Friday, June 14, 2019 at 11:00 am in Pleasant Grove Memorial Park with Ralph Brandon officiating. Inurnment will follow. All are welcome and asked to attend and celebrate Peggy’s life. Crain Pleasant Grove-Murdale Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
