Wanda Marie Hase

Wanda Marie Hase, 89, of Anna, went to her eternal home on December 29, 2020 at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO. She was born February 17, 1931 in Crainville, IL to Herman and Effie (Greenrod) Dunaway. She married Harold “Junior” Hase on June 5, 1949 in Ullin, IL. He preceded her in death on March 29, 2011. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dongola. Wanda enjoyed many things. She loved being outside whether it be fishing or working in her flower and vegetable gardens. When living at The Voyage (River to River) in Anna, she was instrumental in starting and maintaining the many flower gardens that are still enjoyed by the residents today. Her artistic talent was one that she enjoyed sharing with others. Wanda was a beautiful artist and she blessed all of her family and many friends with paintings. Also, she sewed, quilted, crocheted, made cards, and loved to weave baskets. She enjoyed sharing her projects with anyone that visited her. Wanda also inherited her family's music ability and enjoyed singing. Wanda helped on the family farm when her children were young but as they grew, she owned and operated an upholstery shop in Perks. She also drove the school bus for Southern Seven. Wanda retired after working almost 20 years at Choate Mental Health Center. She is survived by 2 daughters, Janet (Jerry) Cruse and Joyce (Marion) Hill of Dongola; 1 son, Jerry (Sheila) Hase of Anna; 6 grandchildren, Lane (Dee) Cruse, Stacy Hill, Leslie (Stanley) Treat, Erica (Rodger) Goines, Heath Hase and Heston (Alysha) Hase; 9 great-grandchildren, Ashton (Jake) Casey; Dalen and Evan Treat, Raegan and Riley Cruse, Garrett and Avery Goines, Claira and Rhett Hase; 2 great-great grandchildren Aliyah and Paisley Casey. 2 brothers, Raleigh (Cheryl) Dunaway and Leon Dunaway and 1 brother-in-law, Bob (Barb) Hase; many Cousins, Nieces, Nephews and Other Relatives. Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, Jim Dunaway and sister Deloris Peeler Reed. A pass-through will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Crain Funeral Home in Anna. Funeral services for Wanda Hase will be private. Interment will take place at Friendship Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Harvest Church Food Pantry or P.A.W.S. and will be accepted at the funeral home.
