Barbara Robinson-Carruthers Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Barbara Robinson-Carruthers, age 79 of Carbondale, passed away, Wednesday, April 7, 2021 in her home. She was born October 22, 1941 in Murphysboro to Paul and Beulah (Ellis) Clover. She retired from SIU as a secretary after 20 years of faithful service. She loved her cats. She was a member of the Church of Latter Day Saints. Barbara is survived by her children, Seelie Robinson of Linden, NC; Tracy (Jean Felty) Robinson of Pomona; Charles (Sandy) Robinson of Murphysboro; John (Barbara) Robinson of Murphysboro; Paul (Robin) Robinson of Elkville and Elizabeth Carruthers of Carbondale; 16 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; siblings, Ina Johnson; Carol (Carl) Johnson; Gary (Kathy) Clover; Shirley (Rick) Fletcher, all of Murphysboro; and Cindy (bob) Johnson of DeSoto; a brother-in-law, Larry Cantrell of Murphysboro; a sister-in-law, Jeanie Clover Ellis of Murphysboro; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Roy Robinson and Walter Carruthers; siblings; David Clover; Dale Clover and Sandra Cantrell. Graveside Services for Barbara Robinson-Carruthers will be Monday, April 12, 2021 at 11:00 am in Murdale Gardens of Memory Mausoleum with Elder Pat Hayes officiating. Entombment will follow. Per the family’s request, mask and social distancing will be required. Crain Pleasant Grove-Murdale Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
