Beverly Ann Mohlenbrock

Beverly Ann Mohlenbrock passed away on March 11 in her home. Beverly was born on March 30, 1937, to Wilhelm and Marcella Kling in St. Louis, Missouri. They preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Robert H. Mohlenbrock of Carbondale, , children Mark William Mohlenbrock of Arizona and Carbondale, Wendy Mohlenbrock Preece and her husband David of Murphysboro, Trent Alan Mohlenbrock and his wife Beth of Carbondale, and grandchildren Jason Mohlenbrock and Korinna Finfrock of Arizona, Heather Cain and her husband Blake of Springfield, Andrew Mohlenbrock of Grimes, Iowa, Dylan Preece of Denver, Madison Olsen and her husband Nick of Murphysboro, Marian Holliday and her husband Nathan of Arizona, and four great grandchildren. Beverly was a superior porcelain artist. She was a Certified Porcelain Art Teacher of the World Organization of China Painters and the International Association of Porcelain Teachers. She was past president of the Carbondale Guild of Porcelain Artists. She painted over 2,000 pieces of porcelain, some of which are exhibited at the Porcelain Art Museum in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She is the author of six books, including “Cooking with Tropical Fruits”. She was active in Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Indian Guides, the Order of DeMolay, and Rainbow Girls. She was devoted to her husband Dr. Robert H. Mohlenbrock, accompanying him on nearly every fieldtrip in their company, Biotic Consultants, in which she was President, and typing all of his manuscripts. Beverly was a graduate of Miss Hickey’s School for Ladies in St. Louis and attended Washington University in St. Louis for two years. She was employed by the legal firm in St. Louis of Lewis, Rice, Tucker, Allen, and Chubb before moving to Carbondale where she was secretary to the Business Manager at Southern Illinois University. She was past president of the Murphysboro Junior Women’s Club and Corresponding Secretary of the University Faculty Women’s Club. She was loved so much and will be terribly missed by her family.
