Charles Edward “JR” Hite, Jr., age 68, of Cairo, passed away on Friday, December 10, 2021 at his residence. JR was born on November 26, 1953 to Charles and Alma (Steers) Hite in Cairo. He married Judy Parrott on March 17, 1972, and she survives. JR worked for Farrow Lumber Sawmill, and had previously worked for Bourlands Glass cutting for over twenty years. He loved hunting for arrowheads. He was very passionate about his Indian Heritage, and proud to be Blackfoot and Cherokee. People would say he looked and acted like Tommy Chong. Survivors include his wife, Judy of Cairo; two sons, Charles (Devanie) Hite III of Mounds and Jason (Nicki) Hite of Chicago; two daughters, Wendy (Terry, Jr.) Wiseman and Jasmine Hite both of Dongola; eleven grandchildren; sister, Cindy (Richard) Lewis of Columbia, Missouri; brother, Tommy (Diane) Hite of Cairo; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John Robert (Bobby) Hite. Cremation rites will be accorded. No services will be held at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Crain Funeral Home to assist with JR’s funeral expenses. Crain Funeral Home in Cairo is in charge of arrangements.
