Earlis Glodo Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Earlis Glodo, age 92, of East Cape, passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at 1:15 A.M. at Southeast Missouri Hospital. He was born on July 14, 1929 to Joseph Victor and Lodoskie (Ellet) Glodo in Grand Tower, Illinois. Earlis married Betty Qualls on March 3, 1951, and she preceded him in death on April 28, 2021. Earlis worked as a riverboat captain for over 47 years. He also worked for the Carpet and Floor Center in Cape Girardeau. Earlis proudly served his country in both the Army and Navy during the Korean conflict. He enjoyed watching the Cardinals play baseball and loved watching his children and grandchildren play any type of sport. He is survived by children, Gordon (Cheryl) Glodo of Grand Tower, IL, Patti (Paul) Pinnon of Jackson, MO, Lisa (Michael) Murphy of Wolf Lake, IL and Terry (Becky) Glodo of East Cape, IL; 9 Grandchildren, Phillip (Madison) Glodo of Marion, IL, Jennifer Glodo of Jonesboro, IL, Cory (Alex) Barker of Cape Girardeau, MO, Clay (Lindsay) Murphy of Springfield, MO, Haley (Nolan) Baltzell of Jackson, MO, Katelyn (Will) Bode of Cape Girardeau, MO, Amanda (Paul) Leland of Jackson, MO, Brett Pinnon of Jackson, MO and Blake (Lindsey) Pinnon of Jackson, MO; 6 Great Grandchildren, Braxden Glodo, Christopher Glodo, Kendall Leland, Camden Leland, Clark Murphy, Charlotte Baltzell and Olivia Pinnon; 3 more great-grandchildren on the way; and many other relatives and friends. Besides his wife, Betty, he was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, and five brothers. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, June 24, 2022 at Crain Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cape Girardeau with Rev. Bobby Henson officiating. Interment will follow in Walker Hill Cemetery in Grand Tower. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Military rites will be accorded at the cemetery.
