Elmer W. Eichhorst

Elmer W. Eichhorst 93, of Ullin passed away at 11:25pm on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, at the Marion VA Medical Center Long Term Care. He was born on April 5, 1927 in Ullin, Illinois to Edward and Ora (Taake) Eichhorst. Elmer was a lifelong farmer in Pulaski County and a member of the Farm Bureau. He was also a member of the First Lutheran Church of Dongola where he served as an usher and on the church council. Serving in Germany, Elmer was a proud WWII veteran of the United States Army. He is survived by his nephew, Bill (Kelly) Miller; great niece and nephew, Megan and Jason Miller. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Roy Eichhorst; sisters, Vera Eichhorst, Laura Eichhorst, and Gladys (Lewis) Miller; nephew, Jeffrey Miller. Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at Crain Funeral Home in Ullin and on Friday, March 5, 2021 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at the First Lutheran Church of Dongola. Funeral services for Elmer Eichhorst will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, March 5, 2021 at the First Lutheran Church of Dongola with Rev. Carol Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Ullin with full military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to New Hope Cemetery and will be accepted at the funeral home and the church.
