Gail E. Derouin

Gail E. Derouin, age 69, of Murphysboro, passed away on Thursday, February 24, 2022 in her home. She was born January 3, 1953 in Camp Polk, LA to Clinton and Priscilla (Hannah) Nichols. On March 17, 1991 she married Wayne Derouin. They have shared 30 years of making wonderful memories. Gail had worked as an aide at Carruther’s School and in the deli department at Wal-Mart. She loved to shop. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family and grandchildren. Gail is survived by her husband, Wayne; children, Tina (James) Moore, CJ (Kari-Anne) Sheets, Venus Rodely and Lisa Derouin; 11 grandchildren, Monica, Justin, Kody, Stephanie, Jessica, Bailey, Cadence, Brianna, Nevaeh, Liam and Declan; 4 great-grandchildren, Ryann, Phoenix, Parker and Asher; siblings, Carol Dixon, Joe Nichols, Sharon Nichols, Danny Nichols and Linda Stephenson; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her aunt, Esther. In accordance with her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. The family will host a gathering at a later date. Memorials can be directed to Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at the funeral home. Crain Funeral Home in Murphysboro has been entrusted with the arrangements
