Jan Michelle Porterfield

Jan Michelle Porterfield, 58, of Antioch, Tennessee, formerly of Dongola, passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2020. Jan was born May 1, 1962 in Anna to Franklin Delano (Barney) and Elaine Jodene (Jo) (McCommons) Porterfield. She was a Dongola High School and a Murray State University graduate. Jan was well loved at Glenwood Baptist Church where she made many wonderful contributions, especially in the choir and in the Glenwood Quartet. Survivors include her uncle, Leon (Barbara) Porterfield of Dongola; aunt, Patricia Beggs of Anna; special sister and brother-in-law, Cynthia and Kyle Kern; nieces, Erica (Jacob) Poat and Gracen Kern; great nephew and great niece, Carson and Aubrey Poat all of Dongola; many cousins and a host of friends. Jan was preceded in death by her parents, Franklin (Barney) and Jodene (Jo) Porterfield. Private services will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, November 29, 2020 at Christian Chapel Cemetery with Rev. Paul Sadler officiating. Interment will follow. Services will be livestreamed through the Crain Funeral Home and Cremation Service Facebook page. Memorial contributions may be made to the Christian Chapel Cemetery and will be accepted at the funeral home. Crain Funeral Home in Dongola is in charge of arrangements.
