Malinda Hendrix Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Malinda Hendrix, age 64, of Nashville, TN, formerly of Terre Haute, IN, passed away on April 10, 2022 at her residence. She was born on November 7, 1957 to Jack and Laura Belle (Johnson) Winning in Decatur, IL. Malinda married Mike Hendrix on June 6, 1982, and he preceded her in death on November 21, 2009. Malinda retired in 2018, after working for over 30 years as a daycare teacher and public schools pre-kindergarten teacher. She loved taking care of her cats, spending quality time with her son, and researching and cooking new recipes. Malinda was incredibly kind, hardworking, and a loving person. She raised her son as a single parent after her husband’s passing, while teaching full time. People will remember her as being uniquely warm, nurturing, and compassionate. Survivors include her son, Michael Curtis Hendrix of Antioch, TN; sisters, Deah Haley of Stuart, FL and Jackie Anderson of Terre Haute, IN; brothers, Jack and Jim Winning, both of Terre Haute, IN; and several other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Mike Hendrix. A private graveside inurnment of Malinda and Mike Hendrix will take place in St. John’s Cemetery in Dongola, IL on Monday, June 20, 2022 with Rev. Chere Riedel officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Crain Funeral Home in Dongola.
