IN MEMORY OF: Nathalie Walker Serving Location: CRAIN FUNERAL HOME – EGYPTIAN MEMORIAL GARDENS 3208 South Park Avenue, Energy, Illinois Nathalie Walker, 101, of Marion, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at her home. Nathalie was born on May 3, 1923 in Marion to Jesse James and Irva Jerusha (Groves) Boles. She married Austin Bailey Williams on September 7, 1940 and he preceded her in death on September 13, 1996. She then married Lee “Bob” Walker in 2005 and he preceded her in death. Nathalie was a remarkable woman, remaining sharp, independent, and stylish until the very end. She owned and operated several successful businesses over the decades. Nathalie was a charismatic woman who loved people, working well into her 70s. Her family was her greatest treasure and always came first. She was a devoted mom and grandma and in most recent years, loved spending time with her great-grandchildren. Her family and friends will miss her dearly, but celebrate her long life and the cherished time they had with her. Survivors include her daughter, Melanie (Jesse) James; granddaughters, Melinda Deaton, and Cheryln Crees; grandsons, Austin Williams (Melinda Heydel), Bailey Williams II, Miles James (Hannah), and Max James; great-grandchildren, Reid James, Doug Deaton (Chandler), Ava Crees, Hannah Keller (Will), Sarah Small, Kristen Williams, Katie Williams, Chloe Williams and Blaze Williams; two great-great-grandchildren, Sawyer Gray and Knox Wilder Deaton; step-grandchildren, Traci Walker, Lindsey (Alex) Doukopoulos, Katy (Devin) Rafferty, Monica (Brian) Drylevicz, Becky Walker, and Michael (Michelle) Walker; step-great-grandchildren, Mira and Adriana Doukopoulos, Conor and Ethan Rafferty, Brandon and Caitlin Drylevicz, Audrey McCall, Serena, Sophia, and Graham Walker; step sons, Rodger Walker and Geoff (Anne) Walker; several adored nieces and nephews who were very dear to her. Dear friend, Colleen Norman, and several other cherished, close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; spouses, daughter, Judith Ann Crees; son Bailey G. Williams; grandsons, Douglas Kent Deaton, and Don Austin Crees; sisters, Gertrude Tanner, Shirley Norman, and Mary Ruth Odom. Per Nathalie’s wishes, she will be cremated. Inurnment will be on Monday, August 5, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Egyptian Memorial Gardens with Danny Cash officiating. The cremation of Nathalie was personally handled by the staff at Crain Funeral Home. Crain Funeral Home in Energy is handling the arrangements.
