Robert E. "Bob" Ingram

Robert E. “Bob” Ingram, age 75, of Cairo, formerly of Olney, passed away on Friday, June 17, 2022 at his residence. He was born on February 17, 1947 to James and Margaret (Newlin) Ingram in Danville, Illinois. Robert married Kay Williams in 1970. They shared 25 years together. She preceded him in death in 1995. He later married Alda (Sackberger) Davis on June 1, 2006, and she survives. Bob proudly served in the Illinois National Guard from April 21, 1970 until his honorable discharge on February 19, 1976. He graduated from Eastern Illinois with his bachelor’s degree in business. He spent the majority of his career working for Master Halco Fence Company. At the time of his retirement he served as a chain link product manager. Bob enjoyed going fishing and playing golf in his spare time. He loved spending time with all of his grandchildren, family and friends. Bob was a member of the Cairo Elks Lodge 0651, Egyptian Country Club, former President Chamber of Commerce in Olney from 1981-1982, Eagles Club in Olney, and the Olney Jaycees. Bob will be remembered for his sense of humor, his gentle manner, and his ability to create instant and lasting friendships. Everybody loved Bob, and Bob loved everybody. Besides his wife, Alda, he is survived by his two sons, Scott (Courtney) Ingram of Evansville, IN and Mark (Michelle) Ingram of St. Louis, MO; two step-daughters, Michelle (Scott) Gordon and Morgan Frayser both of Paducah, KY; one step-son, Tony Davis of Cape Girardeau, MO; grandchildren, Hannah Ingram, Seth Ingram, Sarah Ingram, Charlie Ingram, Emily Ingram, and Penelope Ingram; step-grandchildren, Matthew Riffe, Samantha Riffe, Eric Riffe, Davis Gordon, Adyn Davis, Audrey Davis, Connor Frayser, and Liam Frayser; cousins, Shirley Nolan, Mary McDonald, Betty Pollitt; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parent; his first wife, Kay Williams, and his cousin, Larry Ingram. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at Crain Funeral Home in Cairo with Rev. Doug Atkins officiating. A service by the Cairo Elks Lodge 0651 will be held at 10:45 A.M. before the funeral service. A time of visitation will take place from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of customary remembrances, the family request that memorial donations may be made to Cairo Elks Lodge 0651 and/or the Alzheimer’s Association.
