IN MEMORY OF: Sharon Hartline Serving Location: CRAIN FUNERAL HOME – MURPHYSBORO 1421 Walnut Street, Murphysboro, Illinois Sharon Kay Hartline, 82 of Murphysboro, passed away at her home surrounded by family after a long illness. She was born September 8, 1940 to the late William and Eula (Qualls) Bastien in Oraville. She attended local schools. Sharon worked a variety of jobs as she was helping her family raise her many siblings. After she married the late Gerald Hartline, she hosted many gatherings at her home. In her spare time she enjoyed reading, fishing, hunting morel mushrooms, and spending time at the casino. She was also an avid Cardinals fan. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, she was a rock, a true matriarch that will be missed dearly. She is survived by her children, Pam Reynolds (Randy) of Murphysboro, Cindy Johnson of Harrisburg, Patrick Hartline (Jessica) of Murphysboro, and Elizabeth Needham (Charlie Kimmel) of Vergennes; grandchildren, Candy Hunter, Joe Johnson, Charlie Johnson, Robert C. Hartline, Garrett Brasel, Rachel Reed, Dakota Hartline, Mackeinze Needham, and Mackayla Needham; great-grandchildren, Cheyenne, Ethan, Maya, Eli, Lucas, and Aiden; siblings, Gibb Bastien (Linda), Sandy Stroud (Fred), Carolyn Clover (Cecil) Michael Bastien (Donna), Donald Bastien (Becky), and Terry Bastien; also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Gerald in 2017; infant daughter, Darlene Hartline; grandson, Steven Kent; great-grandson, Jonathan; siblings, Beverly Fager (Harlan), Robert Bastien (Bonnie), Marilyn Ridings (Bill), Debra Rains (Vester), Delores Perkins, and Donna Bastien; sister-in-law, Angie Bastien. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Crain Funeral Home, 1421 Walnut Street, Murphysboro, with her brother Donald officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Fairview Christian Church Cemetery. A bereavement meal will be hosted at Crain Funeral Home, Pleasant Grove location, 31, Memorial Drive, Murphysboro. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fairview Cemetery Maintenance Fund, 7212 Hickory Ridge Rd., Pomona, IL 62975. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
