Susan “Sue Ann” Trout, 89, of Highland, formerly of East Cape, died Saturday, January 2, 2021, at Highland Health Care Center. She was born June 9, 1931 in Kennett, MO to Roscoe and Edith (Baker) Bess. She married William Trout on July 8, 1949. Sue Ann worked for Florsheim Shoe Factory in Cape. Later she worked in housekeeping at Southeast Hospital and was also a volunteer at the hospital. She is survived by her husband of 72 years, William T. “Bill” Trout of Highland; sons, William Van (Debra) Trout of Terre Haute, IN, Wayne (Sherry) Trout of Fetus, MO; daughters, Marcie Lipe of Imperial, MO, Arlene Heath of Granit City; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Sue Ann was preceded in death by her 2 sons-in-law, Mike Lipe and Jim Heath; 2 brothers, Van Bess and Mack Bess. Visitation will be from 11:00am to 1:00pm on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Crain Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Funeral services for Susan “Sue Ann” Trout will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday at the funeral home with her grandsons, Rev. Dennis Heath and Rev. David Trout officiating. Interment will follow in Lindsey Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Wabash Valley Teen Challenge, 1340 Chestnut St., Terre Haute, IN 47807.
