IN MEMORY OF: Dorothy J. Sullivan Serving Location: CRAIN FUNERAL HOME – CAPE GIRARDEAU 829 North West End Boulevard, Cape Girardeau, Missouri Dorothy J. Sullivan passed away peacefully on March 14, 2025, with her family by her side. She was born August 7, 1944 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Claude Willis and Genevieve Willis. In 1964, she married Charlie Sullivan in Cairo, Illinois. Her love grew deeper when they had three children and later to have three grandchildren. Dorothy dedicated her life to her grandchildren; they were the love of her life and her pure joy. She loved being able to give advice to all her family, whether they wanted it or not. She had lived life hard and was full of knowledge. Dorothy truly had a servant’s heart throughout her life. Her work ethic was undeniable. She put that to the good of every life she touched. From driving a dump truck to more than a 25-year career as a Registered Nurse in Oncology. As much as Dorothy loved her family and her role as a Nurse, we all know how she loved being a spicy free spirit! The family cannot imagine the pure Joy that came over Dorothy when she was freed from this life! They know she will have the most beautiful, and unique, style of flying! Rest in our fathers arms until we meet again! (“It is not goodbye; it is I will see you later” ~Ashley) A message from lifelong family friend, Adam was received upon Dorothy’s passing said, Friends I hope today leads to happier times. Dorothy lived a wonderful life. The early years with Charles that created you perfect angels, the years of her determination to become an RN, her love for life and hard work, she overcame more than you realize.I remember the beautiful lady in a 280 ZX... (by Brenda Murphy's). Her laughter was intoxicating, her beauty as a young lady second to none, a Stunner! I hope in the passing of your mother you realize how fantastic she was. The special times that stand out in each of your memories, are what you are left with. Dorothy is survived by her children, Brian (Kathy) Sullivan, Ashley Sullivan, and Matt Sullivan all of Cape Girardeau, MO; grandchildren, Cameron Sullivan, Matti Sullivan, and Clayton Sullivan; beloved sister, Patty Ralph; brother, Steve Willis and his wife, Chari Willis; niece and nephew, Heather and Clint Willis; and Britni Massey, the mother of Matti and Clayton Sullivan. The family would thank Britni for her selflessness and wonderful care she provided for Dorothy (Mimi). She had the very best care and the family is forever grateful. There will be no services at this time. A celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. The cremation of Dorothy J. Sullivan will be personally handled by the staff of Crain Funeral Home. Crain Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Cape Girardeau is in charge of arrangements.
