IN MEMORY OF: Mary Shaw-Keller Serving Location: CRAIN FUNERAL HOME – CAPE GIRARDEAU 829 North West End Boulevard, Cape Girardeau, Missouri Mary Shaw-Keller, age 67, of Jackson, passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2026. She was born on September 17, 1958 to Dewey and Leona (Meyer) Shaw in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. We celebrate the life of a devoted mother, cherished grandmother, gifted floral artist, and lover of all living things. A true original, she brought beauty into the world not only through her artistry but through the love she gave so freely to her family and friends. A graduate of Notre Dame High School, Class of 1977. Her passion for horticulture and conservation was more than an interest—it was a calling. She saw the sacred in the smallest seedling and believed deeply in caring for the earth. As a floral artist, she was truly one of a kind. Her arrangements were not simply bouquets, but living works of art—thoughtfully gathered, lovingly composed, and inspired by the natural world around her. In her later years, you could often find her down by a quiet creek, searching patiently for the perfect stone, or wandering fields and woods gathering vines and greenery to bring her visions to life. She was an unwavering animal lover, and no companion was dearer to her than her beloved dog, Birdie. The two were rarely apart, sharing countless peaceful walks and quiet moments together in nature. Above all, she was a devoted mother and grandmother. Her family was her greatest masterpiece. She nurtured with the same tenderness she gave her gardens—patiently, faithfully, and with endless love. Her children and grandchildren were the center of her world, and the love she poured into them will continue to bloom for generations. Her life was rooted in beauty, kindness, and deep connection—to family, to nature, and to the simple wonders that many overlook. Though she may be gone from our sight, her spirit lives on in every wildflower, every winding creek, and every lovingly gathered bouquet. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Survivors include her children, Amy Shaw, Emily Keller, and Amanda (Andy) Korte-Robert; sister, Janice (John) Stratton; brother, John (Mary Jo) Shaw; significant other of 15 years, Tom Farrow; grandchildren, Elizabeth Greable, Andrew Greable, Abby Lingenfelter, Ella Keller-Thompson, and Easton Sample; and canine companion, Birdie. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Susan Smith; brother, Timothy Shaw; and son-in-law, Patrick Korte. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Crain Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Cape Girardeau. Visitation will be held the evening prior to the service on Monday, February 23rd from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again on Tuesday, February 24th from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM both the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Saint Michaels Cemetery in Apple Creek, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, the family requests with gratitude that Memorial contributions may be made to Crain Funeral Home to help offset expenses.
