IN MEMORY OF: Rita Lee Browning Serving Location: CRAIN FUNERAL HOME – TAMMS 420 Front Street, Tamms, Illinois Rita Lee Browning, age 94, passed peacefully into eternal rest on February 25, 2026. On that blessed day, she crossed into Heaven and met her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, whom she served faithfully throughout her entire life. Rita’s faith in God was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her words, her actions, and her love for others. Her devotion to her Lord was her greatest priority, and her family was a close and cherished second. She lived as an example of grace, kindness, and steadfast faith, leaving a legacy that will continue to inspire those who knew and loved her. Rita was a sister to her two remaining brothers, Gene Isom and Jack Isom. She was a loving and devoted mother to her four children: Deborah Thompson (Clarence), Michael Browning (Diana), Steve Browning (Julie), and Mark Browning (Jaclyn). Rita was also blessed with a large and loving family that included 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Each generation brought her immense pride and joy, and she treasured every moment spent with them. Rita had a joyful and spirited personality. She loved playing games of all kinds and especially loved to win them, often with a smile that reflected both her competitive spirit and her sense of fun. She was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and found great meaning and pride in studying her ancestry and honoring her family’s heritage. Her faith community was deeply important to her. She was a longtime and faithful member of the Assembly of God Church in Olive Branch, Illinois, where she worshiped and served for many years. In more recent years, she attended the Methodist Church in Olive Branch, Illinois, continuing her lifelong devotion to fellowship, worship, and service. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 43 years, Maurice Browning; her father, John Isom; her mother, Dorothy Irey Isom Sams; her brother, Marvin Isom; her sister, Norma Winn; and many other extended family members and dear friends who went before her. Rita will be remembered for her strong and unwavering faith, her deep love and devotion to her family, her joyful spirit, and her enduring strength. Though her family grieves her passing, they find comfort and peace in knowing she is now at rest in the presence of her Savior. Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and her love will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, March 5, at 11am with visitation from 10 am to 11 am all at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms. Interment will follow the service at Olive Branch Cemetery. Crain Funeral Home in Tamms is in charge of arrangements.
