Ruth Boese

IN MEMORY OF: Ruth Boese Serving Location: CRAIN PLEASANT GROVE-MURDALE FUNERAL HOME 31 Memorial Drive, Murphysboro, Illinois Ruth Boese, age 93, of Murphysboro, received her victory into the loving arms of Jesus on January 10, 2026, at Manor Court of Carbondale. Ruth was born on December 22, 1932, in Jackson County, Illinois at home, the daughter of Fred and Erna (Roth) Saupe. She married William N. Boese on December 13, 1953. Ruth worked at the Carbondale Clinic Pediatrics Department until her retirement. She was a lifelong member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church serving on the Ladies Aid and Alter Guild. She was a member of the Quilt Club and the Route 1 Hobby Club. Ruth delivered meals on wheels to fellow senior citizens for many years. Ruth enjoyed gardening, cooking, and going out to eat with her friends. Most of all, Ruth enjoyed spending time with her family and attending the many activities of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her. Survivors include five children; daughter, Brenda Fox; daughter, Sandra Norman; daughter, Camilla (Steve) Sawalich; daughter, Vanessa (Todd) Lirely; and son, Michael (Jodi) Boese. Additional survivors include eight grandchildren; Will (Jennifer) Fox; Pam (Alan) Freeman; Laura White; Tabitha (Dave) Mack; Tassie (Nick) Doellman; Alayna (Jayden) Roper; Alexa Boese; and AJ Boese plus thirteen great-grandchildren and was known as "Aunt Ruth" by nieces, nephews, and great-nephews/nieces. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers, Robert Saupe and Ruben Saupe (Her twin). The family wishes to thank her special caregivers who provided such loving care and support these past months. Funeral Services honoring Ruth’s life will take place on Thursday, January 15, 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Murphysboro with Pastor Matthew Christian officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the church. Interment will follow the service at Pleasant Grove Memorial Park. The family requests with gratitude that memorial donations in Ruth’s honor may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Murphysboro.
