IN MEMORY OF: Steve (Frosty) Frost Serving Location: CRAIN PLEASANT GROVE-MURDALE FUNERAL HOME 31 Memorial Drive, Murphysboro, Illinois Steve “Frosty” Frost, born December 9, 1961, passed away on July 22, 2025 at 12:39 PM, with family by his side at Deaconess Hospital in Marion, Illinois. He lived in Murphysboro, Illinois, having previously made his home in Hopedale. Steve is survived by his father, George Frost of Murphysboro; his sons, Nicholas (Emily) Frost of East Peoria and Quentin (Chelsea) Frost of Minier; stepchildren, Chad (Kristen) Anderson of Hopedale and Ashley (Brett) Frerichs of Tremont; and their mother, Julie Frost of Hopedale, IL. He had five grandchildren—Harper, Finley, and Isabella Frerichs, Brantley, and Sophia Frost—with one more grandchild on the way. He is also survived by his sisters, Shelly Howe of Murphysboro, Debbie Carter (Jon) of Washington, Randy Frost (Lisa) of Washington, Marla Turbett (Don) of Morton, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Delores Hale-Dhaese, and his stepmother, Shirley Frost. Steve grew up in Pomona, Illinois, and later moved to Central Illinois after high school, where he spent many years building his family. Upon retirement, he returned to his roots in Southern Illinois. In his early years, Steve found joy in riding motocross, later discovering a deep passion for woodworking. A true craftsman, he was known for his exceptional skill in custom cabinetry—his attention to detail and ability to flawlessly match new wood to existing pieces were second to none. He worked at Roecker Cabinets, M.L. Fowler, and Studio 29 throughout his career. He had a gift for storytelling and especially enjoyed reminiscing about fun times with family and friends. He often spoke of the adventures of his youth. These memories brought him great joy, and he relived them often with laughter. Steve deeply loved his children and family. While he wished for more time together, his love was unwavering and profound. He will be remembered for his big heart, his wit, and the lasting connections he made with everyone he met. Steve was a member of Christ Community Church, and he enjoyed reading and studying the bible. A Family Hosted Memorial Service will be held at Christ Community Church of Murphysboro on Saturday, July 26. Visitation will be from 2:30–4:00 p.m., with a service to follow at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Christ Community Church Building Fund in his memory.
